This week God has been teaching me about completely relying on him.
It has taught me we live in a world of ‘having’ things to make ourselves feel better. Of course the occasional treat isn’t ‘harmful’ but I need to find and seek ‘other’ ways of how to feel happy.
That is when I am so glad I have my faith in Jesus. He gets me through each day with a HOPE that is satisfying. Even the word HOPE gives me confidence I can do things through HIM.
That when all things in the world are not satisfying he draws near to us and His presence and being at His feet is more than we could ask for.
So, as these thoughts wondered through my mind. I started saying to myself verse one-four from
‘THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD I SHALL NOT ‘WANT’.
HE MAKES ME LIE DOWN IN GREEN PASTURES- ‘MY RESTING AND HIS PRESENCE’
HE LEADS ME BESIDE STILL WATERS-‘RENEWING MY MIND AND STRENGTH’
HE LEADS ME ON RIGHT PATHS’ FOR HIS NAME SAKE. – ‘HE LEADS ME IN THE TRUTH IN ALL MY CIRCUMSTANCES’
EVEN THOUGH I WALK THROUGH THE DARKEST VALLEY I WILL FEAR NO EVIL.
‘DESPITE FEELING OUT OF MY DEPTH WITH MY ILLNESS, I HAVE NO FEAR AND NOTHING SEPERATES ME FROM HIS LOVE- NOT EVEN THE FEELING OF DARKENSS’
This is as far as I have got this week meditating Psalm 23. But each line is has spoken truth and is keeping me looking forward to Jesus. I hope this encourages you too and as I meditate on the second half this week I will see where it leads me
and share next week.
Thought for the day
Remember ‘Jesus hears the cry of the broken’ that is us. We might be part of a Church but we are still broken people, but when in a world that is dark and grows strangely dim, lets use what light we do have to shine.
Here is another song I have found encouraging this week.
