Not to get caught up in busyness.

So, we are half way into January and what do I see in the shops. Cadbury Creme eggs and Hot cross buns. The minute the sale stuff is off the shelves, the Easter stock is already there.

It amazes me how our world works. Where is the time to step back and take a deep breath. Reflect on Christmas and the new year? I think society has got to the point there is so much trauma and suffering in the world, that no one, wants to step back and reflect, on the good things around us. People are too busy, busy busy and I think this is quite dangerous in our walk with Jesus.

I have continued my thankful journal and each day the list gets longer.

It doesn’t take long to realise what we have and what we can be thankful for, my boiler breaking before Christmas helped me realise that it’s actually quite nice to wash your hands with hot water after cleaning, gardening or going to the toilet. With the life we lead, and being so busy its easy to forget what we have.

I encourage you not to get caught up in the worlds busyness this week, and when you think about indulging yourself in a creme egg, think about actually do you really need it and will I appreciate it when Easter comes round. In the end Jesus is all we need and we don’t need extra things to make us feel better.
